Deciduous (baby) teeth removal
Like humans, horses are born with baby teeth which are gradually replaced by adult teeth. Normally this is a natural process but occasionally, as seen here the permanent teeth, fail to completely push out the deciduous teeth. This was easily resolved by removing the baby teeth
Routine floating (rasping)
This is required in most horses on an annual basis from five to twenty years
.After this the teeth grow very slowly but it is more important to manage so
six monthly checks are advised
Wolf tooth removal
It is important to check young horses for wolf teeth and remove them prior to breaking in. This avoids pain for the horse when bitting them.
